OneWay Summer Interns

This summer seven Moody students are completing their internship at OneWay Ministries in Aurora, Illinois.

OneWay’s mission is “to activate people to exalt Jesus Christ and advance His gospel to the multitudes.” OneWay uses multiple media outlets to “[rally] the Church to help reach the lost. [They] provide a host of free resources that inform and inspire, distributed through radio, TV, and the internet.”

OneWay has a well-developed internship program where many Moody students have served.

Here’s what this summer’s interns have to say about the experience:

Katie T.

“This summer I have been serving on One Way's Engagement team as a strategic visionary and project planner. I have been working to help envision and project manage a mobilization kit to advance the spreading of the gospel in the MENA region, alongside mapping out a website platform called Reach People to encourage global missions, and many other fun projects and tasks. Each week I have clear direction and mentorship from my supervisors, alongside daily discipleship, worship, and prayer. I have found awesome community with the other interns, and my time at OWM has been a blast!”

Aravelle B.

“Everything I've learned about missions and art has collided in my time at OneWay. I've been constantly challenged to create better work, have bigger dreams, and surrender more fully to God. Some of my projects here have included designing a prayer cookbook, producing a worship song, and painting a giant map on a wall to remind us of our greatest cause—to reach the unreached for Christ.”

Ruthie C.

“The summer internship at OneWay has been one of the most formative parts of my education. Last summer, I applied because I needed an internship to graduate from Moody. I not only formed valuable market experience in my field, but I also participated in intentional discipleship and community activities. Even better, my work was actually used to advance the gospel to unreached people groups. I came back for a second summer because I could not imagine a better way to use my time and gifts than helping OneWay reach people. God has been using this time to solidify his calling on my life!”

 Dawson T.

“This summer I have been doing photography and branding for various OneWay projects. I have been capturing and editing various OneWay events, and soon I will be getting headshots for everyone. I have also been working with Aravelle and Katie on some rebranding projects. We are proposing a rebranding of certain ministries that are connected to OneWay, such as the OneWay Young Adults Ministry and their Mission Network News ministry. One highlight from last week is getting the chance to meet Ruth Kramer, the producer of Mission Network News, and to chat with her about what the ministry needs are.”

Bethany D.

“During my internship at OneWay, I have mostly been working with their Prayercast ministry. This has involved learning how to research well and how to sift through a wealth of information and news sources. I have also had the privilege of writing summary updates for countries and peoples in conflict. I have loved being able to see God's hand at work all over the world. The gospel is going out! People are ready to hear and know Christ as Lord.

“Outside of work, I have been attending a local prison ministry with some friends—Radical Time Out, which is connected to Koinonia House. This has taught me a lot about God's goodness as I've talked to people and heard their stories. His faithfulness is evident in all that they have experienced and where God has led them.”
