Bethany Lee

Instructor of Communications | Theater

Professor Bethany Lee holds her Master of Fine Arts degree in Directing and Dramatic Writing from the University of Idaho, and her Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute. She started working full-time in the Communications Department at Moody in August 2023. She currently teaches Public Performance, Performing Scripture as a Dramatic Text, and oversees the Performance Practicum team. In addition, she directs theatrical productions on campus.

Professor Lee has held a passion for storytelling since she was a kid. She has worked professionally as an actress for both stage and film for the past five years. She has appeared in TV, commercial, voice-over, and independent film work as well as professional theater productions. As a jack-of-all-trades, she freelances as a writer, artistic director, and public speaker. Bethany also works within the commercial industry as a line producer and casting director. As a playwright, she has had several of her original plays produced across the country and is currently working towards publication.

When she’s not teaching, Professor Lee can be found keeping busy with various hobbies: rock climbing, cooking, writing in coffee shops, studying theology, or her latest fascination, sword fighting.
